Dan Thomas graduated from The New York Ranger School, College of Environmental Science and Forestry, SUNY with an A.A.S. degree in Forest Technology. Mr. Thomas has over 20 years of extensive forestry experience. His experience includes: sensitive lands assessment, timber harvest layout, timber stand improvement, and forest road design, inventory and maintenance. He is also highly proficient in aerial photo interpretation, map compilation and GIS digitizing. Dan provides mapping expertise on projects throughout the western U.S. having successfully completed numerous large forest cover type and planimetric mapping projects in Washington State, Idaho, Montana, Alaska, the Coastal Redwood Zone, Mt. Shasta-Trinity Region, and the Sierra Nevada region of California. He manages a long term contract providing forest biosolids application layout, trail design, and GIS with King County, WA. He is proficient in traditional methods of surveying and using GPS technology. He is practiced in a variety of timber inventory services including: timber cruise and appraisal, timber stand examination, continuous forest inventories, and regeneration surveys. He is skilled using the following mapping and forestry software: ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Traverse PC, TerraSync, and Pathfinder Office.
